Padel in Finland:
Although padel is fairly new, the popularity of the sport is growing rapidly. Last year the number of padel courts surpassed the 100 mark milestone, and out of these, 70% are indoor courts, while 30% are outdoor.
The Finnish Padel Federation board is comprised of eight members, who are in charge of the development and advancement of padel within Finland. It is the decision of this board to currently search for a head coach for the Federation. The primary task for this position is the coaching and training of the national teams, as well as training other coaches at a later stage.
Finland’s nationals teams have fielded men’s, women’s, and senior’s divisions in the World Championships as well as the European Championships. In the European Championships the women’s teams have placed between sixth and eighth place, while the men’s teams have placed ninth twice.
Head Coach Job Description:
The Padel Federation is searching for a head coach, who has a passion for the sport, and desire to improve the Finnish National Teams, while also helping to advance Padel culture within Finland. The task for the year 2020 is to launch training camps for the national teams, as well as to select the best possible teams to represent Finland in this years World Championships. The head coach will be expected to accompany the teams to this years World Championships as well. In the year 2021 the head coach’s task in its entirety will also include training other coaches in Finland.
What is expected from the head coach:
- Solid work experience of a padel coaching
- Good command of the English language
- Must be able to travel to Finland
- A positive mentality and a desire to advance Padel in Finland
